My brake lights no longer respond to brake action--there's only one brightness and I'm pretty sure that it is the brightness of the brake lights, not just the taillight brightness. I pulled out the two bulbs and they both had the filament broken across one of the sections. So I replaced them both (1157's I think....) but still the same problem. All the fuses are not blown. Where should I begin to check?? Sorry, just suspicious, you say a headlight bulb blew as well?<br><br>Maybe you rec/reg is duff which will let the voltage soar, doesn't blow fuses but will kill bulbs, boil batteries & if you are unlucky kill the CDI etc.<br><br>Just put a voltmeter across the battery terminals & see if it gets above 15V when you rev it. Multimeters are real cheap if you look around. <p></p><i></i>

<br>Brakelight problem could be a matter of pedal switch as dragracer said. Nbot,<br>Check the rear brake pedal to see that it is correctly adjusted. Once the rear brake pedal is positioned properly, check the rear brake switch. It's an adjustable plunger style switch near the rear brake pedal. Hold the switch body and turn the nut to adjust the switch up/down. You should be able to adjust the switch so the brake light is on when the rear brake pedal is pressed, and off when the rear brake pedal is not pressed. If you can not adjust the switch to go on/off then roll back the rubber boot (body) of the switch and check the wires/connectors inside. There is very little space inside the switch and if the wires are touching the plunger you could have continuous contact. <br>Don <p></p><i></i>
