valve stem oil seal replacement

the springs are fairly light, so you could use just muscle to compress them. When the piston is at tdc, there is very little room for the valve to drop. I've done it this way in the frame and it was a fairly painless process. Of course, I had to make a special tool that allowed me to compress and remove/install the keepers. Check the length of your springs when they are out to see how much of a set they took. You might want to change them. <p></p><i></i>

I have a little tool I made that goes in a 1" holder in my Mill to compress valve springs. When I did my head last year I was going to do the springs on the mill and discovered just how light the springs are...I did em by hand, but my head was off the engine<br>Jim <p></p><i></i>
