r1 forks on yzf750r?
ive read articles on brake and disk conversions but has anyone fitted y2k r1 forks too yzf750r (95 model) and kept r1 fork bottoms so r1 disks and pads used instead of 750r ones,as dont fancy cutting bits of 750r forks too convert to r1 brakes.any input greatfully received cheers pear.....

Re: r1 forks on yzf750r?
You would need the R1 wheel then as the R1 disk won’t fit the YZF wheel.

R1 forks were kinda confused by my understanding.

Earlier model FZR forks fit the R1 brakes. Really the R1 callipers only require a tiny bit of cosmetic metal removed from the 750 forks which isn’t there for 4 pot models. The Brembo Ducati discs don’t require any material removed from the pad as they are 4 pot wide.

No problem.

pear, for more info dig through there is so much here. Short story, for the money it would take to get all the r1 front end, yo uwould have spent more than Lindeman would charge to make your stock front end feel like a dream, trust me, I've been down this road soooooooo many times. Get SS lines, different compound if unhappy and leave the uknown geometric anomolies to the R&D guys at Cooperate, they have better budgets for these experiments. Not to sound harsh, but I hate to see goo dpeople spend money where there is no clear benefit.

CHUCK D.

Don't forget to add that you'll lose the Speedo as it is electronic on the R1, if I'm correct?
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ...
There are some who call me........Tim?
Director of Entertainment Eddie & the Cruisers
1994 FZR 1000

r1 forks on yzf750r?
thanks for all input.looked into conversion as man at ebay he say buy my converted ones for yzf750,but then would need disks, wheel spindel,r1 wheel and pads so done some sums, would be slightly cheaper than full maxton job on my forks but decided too wait for maxton ££s to be saved up.then couldnt helpmyself and just bought moulds for trackday fairings for ohlins model so will be spending time in garage trying to perfect making them..cheers everyone again for thoughts pear.....
