fzr 1000 exup 6 speed conversion

hi all need to know exactly which parts from a yzf 750 engine is needed to do a complete 6 speed conversion on a 92 fzr exup, I know i need the complete gear shafts, the drum and forks with fork shaft and maybe the shift shaft, but I heard also the yzf 750 oil line is needed to avoid trouble to the gears or so, which oil line have to be changed, looking at the exploded view on the yamaha manual it seem the oil line are the same......help please<br><br>canap<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :x --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/sick.gif ALT=":x"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <p></p><i></i>

Jim, i think your right there must be a difference in the spray bar between the yzf750 and fzr 1000......ive got a yzf750 crankcase but its outside my country and due to shipping cost I told the guy to send me the trans only so I need to know exactly which parts he must include in the package........<br><br>thx canap <p></p><i></i>

I hadn't heard about replacing the oil pipe, but it makes sense, I'll bet it looks exactly the same untill you look at the oil spray jets, they would be drilled in different places to accomodate the different six speed gear spacing. <p> <span style="font-family:helvetica; color:blue;font-size:xx-small;">Straight up Geek</span></p><i></i>

yes, I have read somewhere that doing the conversion without replacing the spray bar or whatever oil line part is....can lead to damage to one gear, maybe the six or another gear, dont remember as i cannot retrieve the site where I read the info........... <p></p><i></i>

I've been running a 6 speed box with stock exup oil feed lines for 7 years without a single problem <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START ;) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br>The engine crankcase is not a very big place and it is hard to imagine the amount of oil mist caused by all those bits whizzing around at 10,000 rpm. I would not worry about it the 750 oil feed pipes if they are not easy to come by.<br><br>Mark <p></p><i></i>

thank exupturbo, this make things even more simple, I have all the parts coming gearbox oil line included, anyway 7 years of testing....are enough to say it can run with stock oil line....<br>anyway the only other difference is in the external oil line from the crankcase to the cilinders, dont think it make a problem to the gear.....nor to the cilinders lubing lol... <br> <p></p><i></i>

I converted a 1990 FZR1000 engine to a YZF750 six speed seveal years ago. Used only the gears, main & counter shafts, shifting drum and shifting forks from the YZF. Everything else was original FZR. It has ran for years without problems. The owner/customer took it 1,200 miles one way & back to Laguna Seca in July heat at near light speeds without any problems. He doesn't do wheelies or drag race. He road races the daylights out of it & uses good non-synthetic Silkolene oil.<br><br>Matt at PSB <p></p><i></i>

Your experience sure add more good feeling to me about the 6 speed conversion Matt......so I think those parts wont have any problem yzf oil line or not! BTW looking to yamaha catalog the oil line have the same part # for yzf750 and fzr1000 exup......<br><br>canap <p></p><i></i>
