Had an Issue with the speedo failing on the 95 about a month ago. Found that the speedo drive clutch had failed (drive dogs ears broken). Checked the rest of the drive out and averything appeared to be working propperly. Thought maybe a mis-alignment when I had ripped down and re-assembled the front end when last worked on. Replaced the clutch drive and spacer, re-assembled the front end and speedo worked fine. While away for bike week the speedo failed agian. Broke done the front end to find the clutch drive had failed agian. Checked every thing agian. This time found the speedo drive gear had failed ( the part the speedo cable attaches to). When it failed it jammed and the torque that the wheel generated sheared the drive clutch dogs. Right before it failed completely I noticed the speedo had a fluctuation in the needle indication of 3 - 4 MPH.<br><br>If speedo fails for anyone and the $3 clutch drive fails I recommend changing the $75 drive gear at the same time as it did NOT show any signs of problems the first time around but was the cause of the problem. Ricerocket- did you check your front wheel bearings? I had this happen years ago on an FZ400R and the bits that sheared off got in the front wheel bearings. They were on the verge of collapsing when I found out, because I took my sweet time getting the speedo running again. <p></p><i></i>
