Brake drag.

Brake drag.
I've got the blue spots with R1 master cylinder and DOT4, they were bled and bled and bled so that shouldn't be the prob.
If I take the calipers off the pistons all move freely, but when on the bike they drag a lot. Braking is fine, strong etc but moving the bike you can hear them dragging... not enough to brake the bike but enough to stop the wheel fom spinning if it's off the ground.
Is this normal, and if not is there an easy cure?

If you're going to take a shot at me let me know so I can duck...!
Brake pads always touch the rotor, I think from what you are describing it's not a problem, as long as you aren't experiancing warping or anything. If you can spin it freely and still hear the drag, you are in the norm.

They can take a while to bed in & sort themselves out after a rotor or calliper change or even new pads.
Acid test:
Ride the bike somewhere safe at open road speeds without ever touching the brake. Stop the bike with rear brake & carefully touch the front discs. If it is hot then you have an issue, if not then you are ok.
As I said, sometimes they take some time to bed in & drag worse at the start.
Obviously you have to start with cold discs & use your brain, if you need to brake - then don’t crash, brake. A safe venue is a good idea.

25Km without touching the brakes... they were hot, not scorching, but hot. About as hot as they could be for me to hold them without burning myself.
So like I said, the pistons are not seized, they move freely when I'm playing with the calipers/pads whatever.
I can't begin to guess at a solution.
Any tips???

That's what I've been doing!!!:D
The pads on it are half worn, so I'll be buying some HH pretty soon anyway..
In 10 days time I'm taking a break from family responsibilities and joining 5 mates on a holiday in the mountains in the north of Spain. We're looking at 300 -500km of mountain twisties per day for 4 days, plus one day 700km motorway slog to get there, and one day 100km A and B road carving to get back.
The brakes won't get "fixed" before I go so they'll just have to cook. It'd be a shame to cook the disks though, (hence the post) but I just wanna ride it, I've been rebuilding her for 12 months now, and I'm fed up of spannering.
We'll be making a diary and taking a shed load of photos so I'll post some up when we're back.
