i'm familiar with harris' work, but 90 grand is a pipe dream.

i am well aware of the costs that accumulate (take my 750 project for example), but everything on that bike is bolt-on. brakes, wheels, suspension on that bike are all stock and that's where the big money is spent.

unless you have a factory built race motor loaded with kit parts and chassis stuff to boot, i'm not buying the 90k bit.

Perhaps they're adding in all the developments costs to make all the moulds and tooling for the model specific stuff?
The bike looks pretty good, but i'd have preferred to see the black graphics on the tank continue across the sidepanels. its looks a little bare there and the stealth sticker just doesn't do it for me. Has it got stealth disks??
What the front suspension? You list says ohlins, but those look like oem forks to me? Have they got the ohlins springs fitted?

I've had a look on the net for the harris bike, this is all I found so far.




Those are Ohlins forks, It has different wheels and brakes there as well.
If you have the original bike then it looks like a few bits were removed before it left the shop. I guess it had all the high end stuff fitted for the Nec show and advertising.

i can tell you right now from looking at those photos that there isn't even 25 grand in that bike.

original r1 forks. original r1 brake calipers and discs. not a true aftermarket ohlins shock. slip-on muffler. i highly doubt it's the original harris r1. the harris bike that owdamer posted even appears to have a removable rider subframe.

the most expensive thing on the bike is the carbon bodywork.

the bike owdammer has listed is the later bike - a different year altogether,
lets not forget that harris produced ( 17 ) R1 varients

im not saying for fact - that mine is the original one (yet)
- untill this is confirmed by harris themselves,

what has to date been confirmed however is that the paintwork is genuinely off one of the original harris bikes,

i have taken R1's on fzr's many times out on the road,
but can confirm - this thing bloody moves,
way too much for the engine not to of had some warming over
to say the least

I am not impressed, anyone can buy a pre-made special, DIY is better.

after all it's 1998, don't look like it's done much work either, show pony!

that swingarm is a beast! jmc is the swedish company, correct? the eccentric adjusters are trick.

jmc are based in liverpool, but more than likely they have a load of swedish and polish workers in there so u may as well call it swedish
