<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ananna.gif ALT=":banana"> Well here we go<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ananna.gif ALT=":banana">
First you need a complete swinging arm wheel shock etc, best place to find one is eBay .Mine is a 97 VFR 750 that year seemed to have the best looking wheel but thats my choice.
Now my shocker is top mounted because i needed to use the FZR shocker mounts to take my Ducati 916 sub frame.Because the VFR uses a similar mono-shock to the FZR the only thing you should need to adjust is the ride height Dog-bones.Thats the easy bit now for the part that needs the most attention and some lateral thinking.
First you knock out the ball type bearing on the left hand side of the swinger you will find this is the same size diameter has the needle type on the FZR then replace it with the FZR bearing the one on the right side is already the same as the FZR.Because the VFR arm is not as wide as the FZR you need to cut the Pivot shaft bush to suit the new bearing width and the bits cut off need to be placed on the ends to make the pivot bush the same length as before you cut it this then needs welding back together to do this slide all the bit onto the pivot bolt and surface weld it making sure you do not weld it to the bolt you then need to make some new spacers for the ends of the VFR arm to stop the sidewards movement. That the basics anything your not sure of e-mail steve.zx9r@ntlworld.com

The Black bike the JJS posted also has different forks. Anyone else notice? Anyone know what forks they are?
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ...
There are some who call me........Tim?
Director of Entertainment Eddie & the Cruisers
1994 FZR 1000

Given the 'blue spot' calipers I'd plumb for R1 front end - I got this pciture saved, really like whats been done to it - mods and colour...

Si

i believe this bike was re-sprayed and sold and was on offer ion ebay for a swap a few months ago,

resprayed in marlborough - nice job
but looked better in the orange personally

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ...

id love to talk to the original builder of this one,

Quote:
tango Posted: Jan 18 2005, 07:34 PM
Group: Members
Posts: 30
Member No.: 3572

"She looks the dogs bo-locks" The bike was a standard FZR1000 when i purchase her off eBay.lve always like the Ducati 916 back end but not that keen on twin cylinders bikes so the next best thing was to build a back end i liked with the front end of a bike i liked. After checking a few measurements i could see the Ducati 916 swinging arm may cause a few problems.
Then found a VFR 750 would fit ok without to much work to get it to fit.
The exhaust system is a Ducati 916 system i only had to fabricate a 250mm bit of pipework to connect to the FZR headers the exup valve is still fitted.
I replaced the old subframe with one from a 916 had to do a small bit of welding to make it fit and the seat unit again Ducati 916 most of it just bolted on
The front screen is cut so it sits lower on the fairing the mirrors are VFR400 the rear shock is fully adjustable you can see the control know on the left hand side below he seat and she has a stage 3 dyno kit fitted with filters.
But at the moment the engine is out of the bike as the big ends are worn should be back on the road by the end of next week.
So if you live in Kent U.K you my see her on the road
