Wheel Polishing job update
RIM JOB
Let me start of by saying that there are a ton of pics here because i get really excited when I do a project and my gf could care less. But anyway here are the pics of my wheel stripping and polishing that I did over the holidays. I will give a small explanation with every pic hopefully.
The ingredients needed: Aircraft stripper, brush, putty knife, utility tape, gloves, rags, metal can, polish, paper towels, tire and BEER.
Taped off wheel
The hardest part of this whole process was waiting for the stripper to take its process. The container states that it should take 15-45 mins. I made the mistake of taking it off after 30. in the long shot it is wayyy much easier to let it set for an hour and then simply wipe away the paint rather than scrape. But I ended up doing 2 treatments I think.
almost done
Front wheel done!!!!!!!!!
Taking the tape off was the best part of the whole process b/c it was the first time you could see the difference.
The rear wheel was a bit different. I ended up taping off the rotor and sprocket too because the sprocket kept getting me greasey. And on the front I accidentally touched the brush to the rotor and stripped off some of the paint/finish from the top of the rotor.
This stripper really started to bubble the paint after about 20 mins.
Rear wheel done!!!!!!
Yea I take too many pics.

The Outcome
There ya go. Thanks to all the people who have already done this mod and decided to post pics.
I appreciate the encouragement.
My It was easy and looks really good.
My only suggestions are that you do it in a well vented area because the fumes make you happy
About 6.23 seconds. And be sure to have gloves that are chemical
Resistant.
Shout out to JJS777 for letting me skank his stands for a couple days

If you lived in Baltimore instead of Wilmington you would have no problem pushing your bikes up three flights of stairsif i didn't have three flights of stairs to deal with up to my apartment, both of my bikes would be parked in my dining room.
