Hi All. Only just found this forum recently, but I've been a massive Yamaha fan for 19 years! Owned FZR600, EXUP RU, YZF750SP, R1, R6 & not to mention the DT50 when I was 16! Current ride below, had it for 5 years with just the Stage 1 de-restrict. 6000 miles. Don't think I'll ever sell this one! Does anyone know where I can get a carbon hugger?..rear shock starting to get a bit marked from stones.

awesome, awesome bikes. welcome to the group by the way.
i couldn't find a hugger from any of the normal sources. you might want to try qb carbon in britain, they made quite a bit of stuff for the R7.

Thanks for that, I'll give them a call tomorrow...think that's the same place I bought the carbon chain guard 3 years ago. Otherwise might have to wrap the shock in a bit of old carpet I've got lying around......

if ya can't locate a hugger, traxxion dynamics here in the states sells a shock protector that might interest you:

not a big fan of traxxion (gave me a bunch of attitude one time) but it's a pretty cheap route to go.

No luck with QB Carbon. They've never made a hugger for the R7 although they said they have seen bikes with them fitted, so someone must make them but they don't know who! They made a hugger for their special edition R71, but that used a standard R1 swingarm so no good I'm afraid.
I'll keep looking but will go down the traxxion shock sock route for the time being...just need to remember to take it off when I park up!
nice

Have emailed Harris but have not received a response. Saw a hugger on Flea Bay the other day from Harris but for a race kit R7 swingarm which has different mounting points, so no good unfortunately
I'll keep looking...
