the speedo right now says 74,303miles. but it stopped working 400 or 500 miles ago. needs a new speedo drive. it really looks better from a distance than close up unfortunately. to get it really looking good i need a couple inner panels(the ones the air tubes go through), some new paint, a new swingarm(the previous owner had some trailer hitch mounts welded onto it). to get it working right i still need those brake rotors, speedo drive gear, new exhaust can, and now a new left fork seal again. but really i have no major problems with it and the motor is strong as i'm sure it ever was. just need to work out some carburetion problems.

this is the paint scheme i've been thinking about. tell me what you think.

Does the speedo go up to 311 instead of 310?
Michael
Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070

Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

yeah i was thinking of either that or just painting the white stripe currently on the top of the tank black. we'll see.

i've also been thinking of doing something like this on the upper fairing only black instead of red

it does and just listen to the motor's sustain.

i just put that on there as a joke really. i wonder how many people notice it while i'm riding though?

Love that paint job, I think it would work well mixing your ideas with that. especially for the top fairing.

cheers

a nutter. he did it just as a novelty. he made a 3000mile round trip with it and apparently it worked well, but ate the rear tire.

Smokin' ....... ? :poke

<rant>Actually this just touched a sore spot as I just did a D-&-C on a friends PC and boy are cigarettes killers. In the 20+ years I've been playing with computers I've never actually _had_ to take apart a PSU before but this time I found every fan completely coated in tar and crud. I should make photos of the 50+ Q-Tips that I had to use to clean goo out that looks worse than anything my kids ever left in a diaper. And people deliberately put this crap in their bodies ? </rant>

so i had a little off a couple weeks ago... broke the shift lever, shattered windscreen, bent fairing stays(which i bent back), broken upper(just where the mirror bolts on), and the standard lower fairing road rash.
