Not the bike... but new discs!
Got some "BlackShadow" discs for the Spondon this week.
Really nice guy, mail order out of Wales (UK) locally made.
Loads of help, quick delivery, even included some stainless washers to shim the disks out... and the calipers in a tad as, it is after all a Spondon and nothing's easy!
Aircraft grade ally carriers, stainless rivets, fully floating (sprung so they dont rattle) just what the doctor ordered!
Check out the photos. 190 UKpounds incl. international (Europe) delivery.

Thanks guys,
The originals are absolutely unworn on the braking surface, brake really well etc, but the ally rivets were so worn it was a) scandalous and b) starting to get dangerous (possible failure).
It was kind of the finishing touch to the bike too.

pd. Does anyone know where I can buy ally (circlip) disc rivets?

There are a few specialist motorbike brake companies here
like "Planet Discs" and "Awesome Discs" some of whom
will re-rivet discs for customers. I'd ask similar places where you are.

Cheers Cam,
The same guy who sold me the new discs has the equipment but he was under the impression that each manufacturer uses different spec 'buttons' and that that would be a problem.
I'm not so sure. The ones on the new discs and the originals are very very similar in size and shape. Problem is I looked on ebay and only found companies selling titanium for a small fortune each button.
A search on Google just wasted half an hour of my time.
The originals are circlip held, and I kind of hoped I could find some replacements rather than send the (heavy) discs off to be done.

I used PFM replacement buttons on mine. They're made from stainless and use the circlip at the back against a wavey washer for security.
Buttons cost approx £2.50 and are available from anyone who stocks PFM
I have the code/size for the buttons at home. If you need it, give me a shout and i'll look it out

Cheers Stig, that would be ideal. Please do. How many different sizes and shapes are there???
That's a bummer 97YZF, but understandable. It adds a lot to the cost and grief too, but for the buyer I thought, not the seller (unless someone refused to pay it and they got sent back etc)...

That's all I thought was needed also, but he seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. It didn't matter anyway because he's not making rotors for my '06 FZ1. I really didn't need them anyway, but they would have been a nice "upgrade". Instead I got some HEL brake lines and EBC padsrf9rider wrote:
I recently shipped some stuff over to the USA for a member on here, only hassle was filling in a few forms.
The sizes on the order were 14 X 5 mm. Anyone who stocks PFM items should be able to order them for you.Yoniboi wrote:Cheers Stig, that would be ideal. Please do. How many different sizes and shapes are there???

I sourced mine from a company in Isle of Man called West Performance Ltd
Hope this helps
