Anybody catch the Qatar race of the new class? Holy freaking hell that was a wild ass start. I'm going to miss the 250s, but this new class seems promising for some good racing.
One thing I did not know - who in the hell are these manufacturers? I've never heard of any of them. I didn't know all the main players weren't going to be taking part in it.

NO reason for any of the main players to take part in it Nate, as I'm quite certain all the motors are supplied by Honda aren't they?
Michael
Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

maybe the same engine in all bikes, but the bike itself is the craetion of the individual teams, (Tech 3, Morworki ect) it allows smaller manafactures to gear up a workshop, employ people, build prototype chassis and go racing
lets face it, why did Moto 2 come about, simply the 250cc championship had become an Aprillia cup, if you wern't on a works Aprillia you wern't in the show, with little factory support from the japaneese factorys, the class was dying
are we still crying over the change from 500cc to 4 stroke GP bikes!!!!Look foward prople, never back, i lament the loss of 2 stroke smoke as much as the next bloke, but to keep motorcycle racing relevant in todays world, we need to move foward

I love a two stroke, it's sad that it's the end of an era. But life goes on.
Personally I look forward to the hotup parts generated by these
extra teams... I have a Moriwaki exhaust on my FZR1000 and it seems
pretty good.
I want to see, how much will chassis technology improve in the next
decade, due to these 'control engine' races...

And it was 1million pounds sterling to LEASE a bike for one year. Costs were prohibitive, race a spec engine or no race at all was good call if you ask me. There are more entrants than openings to race, when was the last time that happened?!stan wrote: lets face it, why did Moto 2 come about, simply the 250cc championship had become an Aprillia cup, if you wern't on a works Aprillia you wern't in the show, with little factory support from the japaneese factorys, the class was dying
