I have a problem

Post by Mike_SS »

Hi, my name is Michael and I have a Yamaha problem...

It started quite late in life and up unitl recently I just said 'NO'

First it was one YZF 750 then it was two YZF 750s and now an FZR 1000 has been added to the list!

It apparently has only been ridden by an old man on Sundays. :)

I was just about to embark on a major mission to up-spec the 750 for next season but then an easier solution seemed to be to buy Mr Butler's labour of love. So sometime over the holidays there will be a meeting at a road house somewhere between where I am and where he is and the cigarette packet will come north hopefully to do battle with the various Fireblades and Ducatis that dominate New Era racing up here. :)

I think I may have one of those problems too, or was that three? My councilor, a chap called Stan, says I may be in denial... I said don't be ridiculous, I'm not in denial at all...

They have patches you know Micheal.

Congratulations :)

Congratulations and great to see PJ stay in the Family. I can't wait to see
more racing from you and PJ. I also can't wait to
see what steve pulls out of his garage for next season too.

Well done Michael, having lined up on the same grid as this bike I can tell you it is a rocketship. In fact it's probably the quickest Pre Modern bike in a straight line running in NSW the past year. I'll never forget Butler pulling a monster, involuntary wheelstand off the grid at EC during the Barry Sheene, he went past me on the back wheel.

My holidays are going to be a lot more relaxing now that I don't have to do another rebuild to be ready for the February start of the season. :cool

PJ will be back at Eastern Creek at Easter with a nervous northener on board. :)

Brilliant. Might see you there, not sure if I'll get along to the Barry Sheene next year. Might even have my own one on the track by then.

Cool. It's going to a big yeat for me. Warwick Challenge Cup, Southern Downs Series, Queensland Championship series, BSFOS and I'm trying to line up a ride for a BEARs meeting up here as well. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go again in 2011 so I am going to try and make 2010 count. :)

Yeah, same here - I can potentially do the Hartwell series, Interclub series and Vic titles, running two bikes in each!! Might be biting off more than I can chew!

I've had this Yamaha Problem for many years, I think it must be an actual disease. It's not like the company has ever done anything for me, in fact, the Canadian office has downright pissed me off once or twice for sure. Why is it that I pee a certain bluish color then, or depending on how old you are, maybe a little yellow? No pun intended.

Not that the other companies have done much wrong, well save maybe one, its just that the Yamaha machines always seem to appeal so much more to my senses really. Rather than that linear power delivery, they've always seemed to have that explosive power-band as well which is in tune with my riding style, when I want to be docile and quiet, I just short shift and keep things below 3 or 4K. When you want to go like a rapped ape, simply spin it up and BOOM, different machine. Two bikes in one.

I think you are under rating your own contribution Mr Butler :)

Be more worried about some of the other guys coming down ;)
