Haha, nah, then it'll rain. The rear wheel has a bunch of gunk that just flung off the new chain and I was too tired to bother with it. It's a racebike, "good from far, but far from good". Or as a wise Welshman once said "Mutton dressed up as Lamb".

No wash needed, Round 2 in June was in the rain! Now it's nice and clean.
Street tires were enough to earn First in Sportsman for the time being, but cost me a set of undies.

The shinko's have been on the shelf for the summer, these were Pilot powers, great street tire, good intermediate dry/wet track tire but not so good on a steady drizzly day. Better than my Pirelli Superbike Pro's mind you.
They didn't net me the win, but second place gave me enough points to take first in that class at least for the month. Round three saw me lose a couple of positions in the standing, but this weekend is hot and sunny and hoping to scrape back a couple points.

And trust me, the undies weren't fit for washing anything after slipping around the track for a day, except maybe scaring bears away. :sad

Yeah,

That's definitely gategorized in the "too much information" file there Jon.

"Pansying OUT"

Sorry man, my pansying out is known as completion work on an 850i which we are currently carrying a rather large sum on until I get paid upon it's completion! Do the math, I need to pay for the cow we just ordered if you know what I mean. Can't afford to rent a one piece and also need to buy one. &&&&& the list goes on.....

Ain't like I wanna be done and at the races instead dude.

I also thought I'd finally be able start working on the FZR machine this year too.

Ever hear the expression the shoe-makers works on his shoes last, man?
I've never claimed to be the fastest even without my buggered up back but with it, I sure's hell am not any faster a guy makes projections on what he knows he used to be able to do

What I'm sayin' is Jon, I don't you to rub in what I'm already well aware of, did you want a salt shaker to go with that too?

Thanks for the offer on the tickets though, much appreciated

No salt shaker, I got vinegar!
Tomorrow's gonna be a good day, today was HOT and people were losing arguments with gravity left and right just in practice, tomorrow will be the races and should be more fun! Tire pressures are sorted and the bike is behaving well again.

Yup, that was fun. Tires were still happy with the temps, got some decent starts. Didn't really lower my PB time at all, but was more consistently in that zone.

Racing for next to last is still racing right?

Any race that you enjoy with yourself and the bike at the end in one piece is a winner :)

I thought that by the end of it the guy behind me would be getting frustrated, but when I went to talk with him after, he damn near hugged me he was having so much fun trying to find a way by and not being able to. Sounds strange I know, but the last couple races of the last rounds he was stuck all by himself between faster riders that were too far ahead and slower riders that weren't ever going to catch up and this time he had someone to actually play with! It was all I had, with elbows and knees out, just to keep him behind until I could catch a breather on the straight where the ole Ace could stretch it's legs for a second or two. He kept me honest and focussed for sure, so that one was all good. The other two races of the day were fun in a different sort of way. One was just trying to not get in the fast guys way when they were coming up to lap me, and the last was gunning down some motards, then dicing with and eventually beating my "nemesis" on her SV650.

Too bad the go-pro crapped out this weekend, 30 seconds of video on new batteries. almost time for the garbage bin with this one.

Oooh guess what I just found!

One of the aforementioned motards had a camera on his helmet (hence the great view of the tarmac on the straights as he tucks in for more speed). Lorna on her SV and I pop into frame at just after 2 minutes, and stay in front of Ryan for quite some time, hope you guys enjoy. Poke fun all you want (c'mon I know you wanna), it was a great race and I had a blast. That's my favourite race of the day.

I have the same problem with mine in the winter, but I think it is more due to cold.
