St George last round

Post by sbutler »

Well I still cant get my head around this bloody Eastern creek, but I did come away with some lollies. A string of 5x2nd places.
It was very hot all weekend, but didnt storm. I had a very uneventfull meeting. Just kept running around, & things worked out.>>>>

John Stamnas Pty Ltd Unlimited Retro ABCD Grade
1 54 ROBERT COLE (NSW) Suzuki 1100 25 25 25 25 25 125
2 20 STEVE BUTLER (NSW) Quiver Parties Suzuki 750 20 20 20 20 20 100
3 25 ZOLTAN PETRI (NSW) Yamaha 750 18 18 0 18 18 72
4 24 MARTIN BALL (NSW) Suzuki RT 750 17 17 18 17 0 69

That result plus the points from the 4 hour it looks like Ive come 3rd retro for the series. Now that was a suprise!!!! Gotta go to Sydney for the offical presentation in a couple of weeks.
If I ever get Eastern cr sorted & learn how to ride this 750, LOOK OUT!!! :banana

Well done Steve, nice work.

You've taken a leaf out of my book - just keep turning up and finishing!

Any more clues as to how you can feel more at home on the 750??

ps did he shave just to see your tummy??

Mate I still havent got any closer to getting the best out of the 750. Im just so use to have the torque of the FZR. & I doubt with the little racing I do, I'll ever get use to it. All I do know is this 750 is way better than me. Its a riders bike, & performs better the faster you go. I just cant get my head to except that fact. The " old dog new tricks" syndrome I think.
I know I was much more at home on the FZR.

Steve,

Who are you teaming up with for the 1 hour??

And, ah well, as long as you are having fun on the 750 and picking up bits of tin who cares what the lap times are??

Yeah true enough J.
Im not doing the one hour, the race money tree has died.
I cant afford it. I would love to have a go though.

Congratulations on the results for St George series Steve.
I might have to give them a go next year.
You didn't blow your zip on your new leathers did you?
I'm riding with Rob Cole in the 1 hour, should be fun riding his 1100.

Teaming up for a 1hr? We run a 4 hour to end the season and the winners always stop at the 1 hour mark to switch riders and fuel up, those that stop more lose too much time to win. During ice racing season we have guys that ironman the six hours solo, that would hurt.

Good on ya Jaffa. Rob has found the sweet spot with the 1100 & he was untouchable on the weekend. You two will do well.
Good luck..

Come on Jay, me & you on the FZR, they would execpt a late entry..

Would've liked to Steve but the race money tree in this yard is pretty straggly too. I'm on a track day tomorrow as prep for the 6-hr, which is where the last of my race cash is going. I also need to think about the Barry Sheene next year!
