92 FZR 1000 in action

Post by sbutler »

Some pics of me on the FZR 1000 At oran Park in NSW Australia.
This is whats called "New era" racing down here. Its for bikes built from 1990 to 1995. Good for us old men..
My first race after 19 years away!
What do ya think. I say the old FZR looks right at home on the track?

Its a pitty the track is now sold & will be a housing estate in 2010/2011

Just for those that want to glote:: The FZR was the fastest bike down the straight. Didnt get passed on the straight all day. & could pull a gap on most bikes. Got hammered in the corners though!

I believe it. The FZR1000 torque curve works well on the straights. Takes a fair amount of setup and change to the suspension, gearing, and chassis to get it to do well in the corners. It's tough to compete against a 750 when it comes to agility in the corners. Congratulations on 8th. A top 10 finish is always good :banana

Thanks Stan but
I wasn't leading the pack. [wish I was] At that stage because they run Formula 1 2 & 3 together, I was comming about 18th !! & still got hammered by some realy fast 750s Ended up 20th overall & 8th in class from over 46 starters.. So after 19 years Im pretty happy.

We will be sharpening up the handling over the Xmas break, ready for next year.
We only have 2 more rounds to go this year, so I wont be making huge changes at this late stage. Just fiddeling around to make it a little better. There is more to come from me,[I have to ride it better :hissy ] rather than mucking around with the bike.
But is was good blasting past guys on the straight!!! :P :P
