opening guages

Anyone found an easy way to open the guages? I'm assuming all models are the same but for arguments sake lets say 87 FZR1000 tacho. I really want to avoid prying open the pressed black rim that holds the glass in but it looks like the only way.<br><br>My bike is getting the biggest restorarion/general overhaul this winter and call me anal but there is some sort of frosting on the inside of the glass I want to polish out.<br> <p>[Tim - please insert cool smiley here]</p><i></i>

I have opened a number of gauges over the years...Have to Very carefully pry the bezel off....<br>I use dental tools <br>I have a number of old bikes that I've had to do that to <br>in order to get them to operate correctly<br>Be carefull and you can get it done, Not that hard, but it is delicate<br>Jim <p></p><i></i>
