How to post pics

Post by FZRDude »

Okay here we go. <br><br>First off, I recommend using (PB) <!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="top">Photobucket.com</a><!--EZCODE LINK END-->. It is by far the easiest site to use and it is free to register.<br><br>Once registered, upload your photos. Then you can view them. <br>Underneath each pic, there are three (3) different links. You want to copy the bottom link. The one that starts with {img}<br>Then all you have to do is paste it into the body of the thread you want it to show up in.<br><br>It is possible to hot-link the picture from another site by first right-clicking on the image. copying the url and then open your new or reply topic and using the image button to the left of the body of the post. <br><br>I don't really condone that pratice, as it is in a way, stealing bandwith. I use to do that before I figured out that it wasn't very nice. Even my smilies are up-loaded to PB.<br><br><!--EZCODE FONT START--><span style="color:red;">New Addition:</span><!--EZCODE FONT END--> AVATARS<br><br>First you need to click on "My Control Center" then you'll go to "Edit Profile". <br>You'll need to have the URL of the pic you want as your avatar and place it in the box labled "My Photo" Also make sure that the little box above it is un-checked. <br>Then, of course, while you are there you can fill out your Profile as well. After you are done, click SAVE. <p>Tim<br><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END--><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="http://img69.photobucket.com/albums/v20 ... <!--EZCODE IMAGE END--><br><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em><!--EZCODE FONT START--><span style="color:red;font-family:times new roman;font-size:small;"> Has anyone seen my keys?</span><!--EZCODE FONT END--></em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--><br><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em><!--EZCODE FONT START--><span style="color:white;font-family:times new roman;font-size:small;">Dir. of Entertainment<!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://eddieandthecruisersmc.com" target="top"> Eddie & the Cruisers</a><!--EZCODE LINK END--></span><!--EZCODE FONT END--></em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--><br><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em><!--EZCODE FONT START--><span style="color:blue;font-family:times new roman;font-size:small;">'94 FZR 1000</span><!--EZCODE FONT END--></em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--></p><i>Edited by: <A HREF=http://p072.ezboard.com/bexupbrotherhoo ... How to SEND a photo ~UPDATED AS OF 10/01/05~

Post by jjs777 »

You can send an email with (1) photo at a time to my registered photobucket account.

Please send an email to
jjs777_fzr.77777@uploads.photobucket.com

Please place in the subject line
EXUP Brotherhood
The subject line must be exactly as it is written above. Case sensitive.

Please make the picture less than 1MB in size. Optimum viewing would require the pic to be 1280x1024 or less. I think 1024x768 is best for most people's screen resolution nowadays.

Once you send the email the pic is auto uploaded to photobucket.

Go to http://photobucket.com/albums/v206/jjs7 ... otherhood/ and find the pic you uploaded. You may right click that image of the photo to find the url of the pic. That is the url that may be inserted in any posts that you make...anywhere regardless of whether you referencing it from our brotherhood forum or not.

If you put
EXUP BROTHERHOOD
in the subject line of the email....thats where the photo will be uploaded to.

If you put Exup Brotherhood Gallery
in the subject line of the email....thats where the photo will be uploaded to.

The EXUP Brotherhood
folder is for general photos relating to ANYTHING posted on this forum. It is not for photos that are NOT for this forum. It is not your private upload area. It does not have to yamaha related.

The Exup Brotherhood Gallery
folder is for nice pics of YOU AND YOUR BIKE or just YOUR BIKE and MUST be a YAMAHA.

Either folder is accessible as a slide show
http://photobucket.com/albums/v206/jjs7 ... eshow=true
OR
http://photobucket.com/albums/v206/jjs7 ... eshow=true

If you put photos in the wrong folder...I will delete without warning.

Please name the pics before uploading...I recommend a username_date format so as to not conflict with other photos already uploaded.

If you email the photo...and you do something wrong...you will not get a bounce back reply from photobucket. It just goes into the bit bucket.

Here's a how to I wrote for my forum.

I've seen quite a few people aren't sure of how to post pictures on the forum or how to use imageshack to host them, so here's a little tutorial to help out those who don't know.

First off, go to www.imageshack.us and the first screen you come to should look like this:

Image

STEP 1 Click on the browse button. This will take you into your My Pictures folder on your PC. Find your way around and select the picture you want to host.

STEP 2 If you don't know how to resize pics on your PC, use this (optional) function. Tick the box and then select the size you want your large picture resized too. Choose the 640x480 as it is a large enough size for people to see the picture and detail, without slowing down dial-up users too much. Also it means not having to scroll the screen side to side when a large image is posted.

STEP 3 Click the Host it! button.

That will take you to the next screen after the picture is up loaded.'
It should look like this if your picture is bigger than about 200x200 pixels.

Image

If you did host a larger picture because detail would have been lost if you shrunk it, don't worry, use the Thumbnail for forum (1) that is circled in green. Copy the whole URL that is there and when you post on the forum it will come up as a thumnail image like the one circled in green. It shows the size of the image and when you click on the thumbnail in the post on the forum, it will open a new page with the full size image.

If the picture is under about 600x600 pixels, just use the Hotlink for forums (1) circled in blue and copy the whole URL and paste it into your post.

While you can register on imageshack to keep track of all; your pictures, I found it didn't like remembering me when I went back, so I didn't worry too much.
If I want to put a picture up again that I have already posted, it's normally easier to just go back to imageshack and rehost it again.
