Re: C's thread
Cheers Tim, when i limped it back to the pits and took of the cluch cover off we found lots of metal and the final drive cog was badley worn so it's a full strip down. If the cranks damaged we will put a new engine in.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p072.ezboard.com/bexupbrotherhoo ... ww>Charlie WW at: 7/23/05 2:02 am

Re final drive
Hi All,
just to clarify, C is referring to the primary drive gear between crank and clutch basket outer....What a mess it was as well.
Nothing a 175 BHP replacement engine won't sort though......
Will try to get to Croft,
yours Slip.

Re: Re final drive
The verdict of the engine failure was down to one of the springs on the clutch basket which fell off, came loose, cracked or snapped for some reson. This caused the problem on the primary drive.
All the metal that got chewed up solidified with the heat which of cause went around the engine to do alot of damage
= END RESULT ......Knackered engine

NEW ENGINE
Race pistons, con-rods, polished head, race clutch, new carbs, dyno-jeted, full wireing loom, no battery, expected
177bhp at the back wheel.
Will report back after Croft.

Re: re new engine
Hi Slip
I think it's called "TOTAL LOSS"
You still start your bike with a battery, but no battery fitted.

There will be 2 jack plugs fitted on one side of the bike, connect up, press your start button and then disconnect when fired up.
Cheers

re talking bollocks
Hi CharlieWW,
my turn to talk bollocks now,
re seating position, you still look a tad forward to me,
but it's the feet / peg bit that's getting me.
It appears above, that you use the toes on your right
foot, seems usual, but the left looks like your heel on
the peg, or is just a trick of the camera..
Have you been to Snetterton yet, ain't that back
straight something else. The first time you get on to it,
it just seems to go on for ever, but very soon it seems
quite short really, till you get to the left hander.....
yours Slip.

Yep bollocks slip, it's just my style, anyway my first track day of the year is on it's way 14/04/06 bank hol Friday at cadwell pk. Very much looking forward to it because i have just got it back from my mechanic and he's put on a Arrow full race pipe on It. Spent a day on the dyno (in fact it took 26 runs to sort it out) and now it's producing 204bhp at the crank and 176 bhp at the back wheel but estimated over 180 bhp when it's moving with the air-flow. So we should be "cooking with gas"
Thing's that go fast and crash
