What do you need to know John? The new part needs to come in box labled " Falicon", and just assemble with new parts as needed from that point.
Uhhhh...., on a more somber note, does the engine still run Ok?, Like, we hope no big parts went through the crank gear?
Looks to me like the case survived Ok, but I can only see so much.

thanks guys for the quick replies....sorry I feel ignorant on this but never went this far to pull out the internal basket (the one with fingers that broke on mine)

konto this is a good link

http://members.cox.net/kontoboy/factory ... ft_kit.htm

So I need to run to the store to get mm bolts to thread into the sleeve and pull out ? makes sense as konto states 'it doesnt look possible to remove' - until I realized the sleeve will allow me to then remove the basket

and for the record i still have the shift kit....I never installed it...

yeah this is the 95 bike

Well now you've got no excuse for not putting that shift kit in. It works really nice too--very crisp shifts.

The bottom end is going together todaywhen I founf three busted valve guides in this head. I was going to have it to ship early next week but I need to get guides for it now.

I was giving it a bit of wrist while in first gear....once it was up I sort of went into 2nd gear - where it didnt really get into 2nd gear. Thats when it when clunk.

Bike was running fine afterwards...but there was a strange vibration but not so much under 45mph. I knew something was bad and figured it was broken friction material rings etc.

I opted not to install the shift kits I have into the 95. I had those destined for the two 90 bikes.

Today I sourced the clutch basket from a spare motor and it is all back together. I removed all the visible material - and threw in a new oil filter - did several oil changes and will see how it goes.

broken basket

Post by creed12r »

If you're happy with just changing the oil, all well and good.

But, there is a large oil drain hole that allows oil from that area into the sump, if a large piece, or lots of small ones have found their way into the sump, (and they will have), they could easily block the oil pick-up to the pump.

If the pump pick-up gets blocked, you'll do your crankshaft (big end goes first) .

The basket broke on mine and when I removed the sump to check, there were lot's of pieces in there.

gasket

Post by creed12r »

The gasket will usually come off complete if you're careful, it comes off stuck to the sump rather than staying on the engine.

John glad to see it only looks like the basket and not much more than that.
