Re: RE:10 year old lid
I wear the Simpson Super Bandit because:<br>1. They offer a super dark screen for it (like black paint, hard to see the road but I know what it looks like)<br>2. Looks like the Preditor mask from the Movie<br>3. Is not legal in the UK<br> <p><br>My Name is <!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://147.202.33.72/cdespain/images/me ... <!--EZCODE LINK END--> <br><br>This is <!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://bike.fast-bikes.us">My Bike</a><!--EZCODE LINK END--></p><i></i>
Re: RE:10 year old lid
I haven't tried a great range of helmets - but I currently use a Shoei and like it. Although I wish it had one of those nose cover things - ie the little guard that stops your breathing from fogging up the visor in rain and cold weather. I know they are available, but they weren't available on my helmet at the time.<br><br>My last helmet was an AGV and it was terrible. I replaced numerous visors as the inside limination/coating kept bubbling and flaking off. They are a bad fit - always used to leave a big red mark on my forehead, lots of windnoise and the front air vent used to rattle in the wind.<br><br>So the Shoei has been great in comparison. Overall it seems to have a far better build quality. <p></p><i></i>

I like my new shoei...but it pinches a spot on my jaw by the ears...hopefully packs in soon.....<br><br>But really, I miss my old HJC flip-up helmet...it was so nice to not have to take off the helmet 10 times on trips through town just to get gas or go into the bank...... <p><!--EZCODE FONT START--><span style="color:orange;font-family:century gothic;font-size:medium;">Nbot</span><!--EZCODE FONT END--><br><!--EZCODE FONT START--><span style="color:green;font-family:century gothic;font-size:small;">'94 Fizzer Litre</span><!--EZCODE FONT END--><br><!--EZCODE FONT START--><span style="color:orange;font-size:small;">This is your sig on drugs....</span><!--EZCODE FONT END--></p><i></i>

Helmets
Its up to you but most helmet manufacturers suggest lid replacement every 3 or 4 years, because the airspace in the foam liner compresses with normal wear and the helmets effective strength is diminished. Thats why when you buy a new one its fits more snuggly than after you "break it in". Replace that helmet more often!!!! Better safe than sorry, besides all the new styles look better anyway.<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :rock --><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ock_On.gif ALT=":rock"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <p></p><i></i>

So anyone else use the HJC Sy-Max helmets ? I like the Yikes III however I snapped one of the arms off my $400 Zeiss eyeglasses putting them on while wearing the helmet.

I miss that crazy banana man :sadFZRDude wrote:A shame that mintclint don't hang around anymore....
I don't know if they ever did a full study on those or not, but there was lots of talk of those types of helmets causing some major damage to the temple area/eye sockets because of that hinge. It may simply be one of those one-in-a-million things if it came down to an accident. So anyone else use the HJC Sy-Max helmets ?

A couple of different one's for ya.
I'm currently using an Airoh TR1 Helmet.
Removable chin guard and flip down tinted inner visor.
![Image](http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u186/scar_biker/tr1-black-helmet_1160993899_260.jpg)
My pevious one was Roof Boxer.
Flip up and over chin guard and tinted visor.
![Image](http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u186/scar_biker/boxer_blackgloss_large.jpg)
Both excellent Helmets.
The Roof Boxer I can really recommend as I had a pritty hefty crash with that one on.
Chin Guard took a heavy hit and survived intake.
