Black Smoke

Okay, So I went on vacation and ran the bike hard once. Took it to an indicated 145mph (hehe). After my friends caught back up with me, they told me that once I took off, there was a huge cloud of black smoke, smelling of fuel. Obviously I'm running rich under hard acceleration. Cause and repair? <br><br>94 1000 <br>Kerker Slip-on <br>24k miles <br>unknown carb work or valve work/adjustment<br>stock air-box and filter<br><br>Going to change air filter and plugs this week, same time I'm replacing the pads. Nope, haven't had the motivation or the money. Now I'm a little short on time, but I have another vacation coming up, so maybe then. Thinking about attempting a valve adj then too. A little aprehensive about doing it, but going to give it a go none the less.<br>The smoke that everyone is telling me about only occours under hard acceleration, so I'm not "overly" concerned. Probably just a cleaning as suggested.
