Interchangeable Clutch Baskets

Post by IceCream Bandit »

Has anyone ever fitted a clutch basket off of an R6 or R1 onto a YZF750?? A buddy of mine recently had an R6 engine apart the same time I had my 750 apart and the inner and outer apeared to be the same. Reason being is I don't think my basket will last the season, there are heavy indents in the outer and I want to replace it with an aftermarket/potentially stronger unit

Well seeing how they don't list anything for a YZF750 back to my original question.

Try out the Yamaha online parts page to check -
Since I don't know exactly what years you guys are working with I used some at random -
A clutch basket for an '86 FZ750 is part # 1TV-16150-01-00
Part # for a '92 FZR 1000 is 3GM-16150-01-00.
I'm gonna guess they would interchange.
Falicon has a basket to replace those #'s. The YZF series I don't know.
It really does help to have as much of that info on hand as possible when making calls on race parts, But post back with info if you find out.

cvhjkthis
