YZF750 shutdown
When I ride my bike at high rpms for extended periods of time(reaching top speed on highway) my bike cuts out, I switch it to reserve and it's fine, if I slow down and drop the revs I can take it off reserve and it runs fine; it does it even when it is nowheres near empty. Anyone know what the problem could be??

Re: YZF750 shutdown
Good job Columbo I pretty much figured that out already, not to sound like a smartass but do want a gold star? I"m personally thinking there may be a problem with the fuel pump because I can switch it on reserve and it runs fine. I am unclear of how the fuel delivery system works, I know there is a vacuum hose to the pump assembly but is that for the reserve and the electric is for the regular operation; or is the vacuum line for the regular operation and is the electric is for the reserve??

Ohh, Ohh, are you giving away GoldStars? Think my grandpop used to have one, must be worth a mint in classic circles.

The pump will be required at any stage I’d imagine & the vacuum hose just stops the tap leaking when you pull the hose off. You should hear the pump working anytime the carbs have drained of gas. Do you?

It is possible I guess that the filter on main is blocked, usually it would be reserve that should more likely get blocked.

May be able to see something with a flashlight & an empty tank. Failing that the assembly comes out easy enough, but sealing it after is important.

Can’t find that damn torch, all I got is this cee-ga-ret lighter & . . .
