Tool tips

Mjello - the bit you are looking for is pretty much a standard piece, go ask a deasant tool sell-out, they should have them. For the "upgrades", off course you will check valve surfaces while you are at it, recondition if needed to, and change the valve stem seals while you got them off. For the res...

Draining

Mjello - you have to check battery consumption with a amp-meter, in order to see, if you have a leak somewhere. I would still guess on your battery.

No electric

Mjello - the YZF750 has a main fuse too, it sounds like that or a loose ground connection at the battery pole.

Strange noise

Hello - my FZR started with some strange behaviour, and ditto sound, which I could not really pin down. After a few hundred miles, when pulling over at a gas station, it sounded like grinding teeth in the gear box. It ended up being a blown gear box bearing, which caused the main gear shaft, the oil...

Nightmare

Hello - why in heavens name would anybody wire the fan directly to the key? If it is the thermo-switch being faulty, go buy a new one! Can you get the bike moving, when applying just a little bit of gas? I mean - like on idle gas only? Can you get the bike running when you rev it up to like 4-5k, an...

EXUP removal

Hello - I put in K&N needles since the stock does have a hole somewhere between 7k-8.5k, main jet are changed up to #130 on all cylinders, idle screw is out 2 turns, and the float height is lowered just a bit. The exact height is to be confirmed next time I am doing anything down there. With regards...

EXUP removing

Hello Stevo

Removing the EXUP is not difficult at all, you will have to leave the servo on, and fabricate some sort of stainless blanking plate to cover up the EXUP housing. I put in a few minor alterations in the carb, and it all works fine.

Regards - Lemmy

EXUP setting

Hello

The EXUP pulley has a kind of a fork on the one side, when idle this fork should be aligned with a check-hole in the valve cover. Make only a little slack in the wire, to hard adjusted make the servo sound overloaded.

Regards
Lemmy

EXUP wiring

Hello

I don't think the red/white wire has any thing to do with the EXUP, it's more likely, that it goes from the ignition fuse via the kill switch to the ignition coils.

Regards
Lemmy

EXUP squeak

If the EXUP needs grease, graphite will works best due to high temp, everything else will make it stick (besides of molybdenum disulphite). I have never greased my EXUP, and it works fine. The wire cabling on the other hand needs attention. Lube with motoroil frequently (due to high temp) will help ...

EXUP

Hello Hiras

If not mistaken the EXUP should move smoothly. If yours do not, try and check the wire which operate the EXUP. If they "squeak" they are dry as a desert, frequently oiling due to the temperature, improves movement. Check if it has started to break, in that case renew them. It is n...
