Thanks for the insight, Jim. Point understood. I guess I was really wondering how often piston to cylinder clearance is actually within spec, and cylinders are round. Is anyone ever that lucky? <p></p><i></i>

Has anyone ever had luck just changing piston rings?
Just wondering if any FZR owner has ever been able to cure oil consumption by simply installing new rings and honing the cylinders. I am trying not to drop $500 on a Wiseco kit. I once tried re-ringing an old GPZ750, and the oil consumption stayed the same. Has anyone had luck with just new rings?<b...

How many folks have to add oil in 1000 miles?
Just taking a poll on whether or not people have to add oil to their motors between changes. If so, how much, and how many miles are on your bike? <p></p><i></i>
