The project ground to a halt and the bike was broken down and sold for spares.

Re: Some other questions
The Yzf750 and EXUP output shafts are the same size and it's a straight swap, nothing needs to be spaced out to make it fit.McFizzer wrote: Also I need to order my oil delivery pipe for my 750 6 spd swap.. Oh with that is the 750 output shaft smalled then the 1k?

Thunderace crankshaft.
Thank you creed for the information. I guess I'll go the 1040 route. The 1070 would be nice if I was doing drag racing but the funds just aren't there me thinks. I just really want to hit the 150 mark at the rear wheel. I think that'll be enough...for now... Then I'll invest in an R1.. Does anyone ...

big bore kit.
With the 1070, you have to open up the crankcases to accomodate the larger liners, so where the barrel normally just slides down the studs into the cases you have to trail fit the re-sleeved barrel and grind away where it touches until it's a nice sliding fit. You need the Wiseco base gasket to suit...

gearboxes
Good info Spook, just one question pertaining the the 750 box. Is the output shaft from a yzf 750 the same as the exup's? or would I have to switch that over? when changing trans. Cheers You can swap the YZF 750 gearbox straight into the FZR 1000 EXUP and the YZF 1000 Thunderace, the shafts are the...

I had my local garage fit new forks seals a couple of years ago. When i got them back and fitted them the first ride out nearly dislocated my shoulders! :shock I went back to the shop and said they were way to hard. After much head scatching it turns out that the Yamaha manual says there is only on...

numbers
In the Yamaha manual, the crankcase is the right way up, in the haynes the crankcase is upside down, the number for J5 in both photo's is the number closest to the crankcase vent pipe, so both manuals are correct.

I know the EXUP blocks and sleeves are fine for 1040, highly recommended to resleeve for 1070 although there are people on this forum who say they have got away without it. As for Genesis I couldn't say. There are very few people running the 1070, as far as I know they have all re-sleeved including...

gasket
Ensure the head "half moons" and the gasket are well degreased and clean and the sealant should stick it fine,
I've never had a problem with these parts and usually use "hylomar" gasket sealant, but always ensure the parts are well degreased.

axle sizes
John, sorry but I cannot get to my axles.... I have both a YZF750 and FZR1000. Best recollection... the rear axles are FZR1000=27-ish mm and YZF750 =39-ish mm (maybe 37) but the YZF750 is CONSIDERABLY larger. Couldn't you see my post above yours Tim?? You know, the one where I gave Yoniboi the corr...
