Re: LSR ZX14R build

Motor will have all starter and alternator stuff striped out, I'll organise a crank shaft side attachment that will allow a remote hand held start on the alternator side. It will have Woosner h beam rods and 9:1 pistons. Adjustable cam wheels, standard cams, Carpenter valve springs. Cometic thicker ...

Re: LSR ZX14R build

Yep. I'll be running E85 fuel, compliant high HP fuel pump, fuel regulator, larger injectors, controlled by Motec M48 ECU The E85 should eliminate the risk of det at 107 octane, and cooler explosion. On the intake side I'm running twin side mounted 600 x 300 x 75 inter-coolers, fed by NASA ducts, wi...

Re: LSR ZX14R build

Thanks Guy's! Yeah the turbo has me a little worried lol! I imagine it will be like spool, spool, spool, spool, are we there yet? then being shot out of a cannon! Being twin scroll, I will have to have 2 waste gates, which adds expense. I'm going to be running somewhere between 1 bar and 2, so boost...

Some parts arrived today... :D Turbo... https://i.imgur.com/sCiSprk.jpg Some other bits... https://i.imgur.com/0q3Di11.jpg I've decided to buy all new mechanical parts, so I know what I've got from the beginning. The salt flats at Lake Gairdner are 80 miles from the nearest road, and outside of mobi...

LSR ZX14R build

Okay, let's go racing!

It's never that easy, and what I'm proposing exceeds everything that has been done in AU on a sit on bike on salt.

So let us start here:

I picked this seriously munted low km monster a while ago. And this is the starting point,

Re: Bimota YB4EI v OW01 'Race Relations'

My only comment on their question, how can a little Italian company contest with a big Japanese giant, well they did allude to it in the article, but, simply stuff the big japanese giant's motor into your sweet lightened and stiffened chassis. Yep that was the idea! Bimota essentially invented the ...

Re: Forum Software Update

The second image loss appears to be a flurry of broken links to images hosted on third party solutions such as photobucket/flickr/picasaweb/etc. This one I need to look into further as I don't really know what I can do to restore links to broken or defunct image hosting sites (I think Spook might h...

Re: Christmas 2018

I'll be looking after Mum, not a happy time, Dad died on Monday. He was 96, so a good innings, doesn't make it any easier though, especially for Mum... 66 years of being happily married.

All the best to all my forum buddies, for Christmas and the New Year, Cheers!

Re: My latest Bimbo

Okay... this one is finished took it for a ride, and bloody hell!

It's the first bike I've ridden with an exup valve fitted, and it makes a very noticeable difference the engines character, especially how it pulls from low rpm.

Edit try this one....?

Re: My latest Bimbo

I remember the 1st time I saw a Bimota, it was a brand new YB10 Dieci (FZR1000 motor) and I was just in awe at the RAW CRAFTMANSHIP...PURE ART!!! Damn right! After a year of not being so well, (back surgery, blood-clots, recurring blood-clots, staph infection, lung scaring..) I'm finally getting ba...

Re: Akrapovic

no, sorry mate, not here. If you have a repack kit, it should have rivets. measure the outside diameter of the new rivets, and use a new good quality (cobalt) drill bit to drill the head off down to were the remaining stem is. Get a tapered punch (needs to be a slightly smaller diameter than the ste...

Re: ZX7RR Build.

Jason is getting them through the dealer, so there will no difference in price.

The Kwaka parts on the other hand are about 1/2 the price of Yamaha, for the same sort of item... go figure?

Re: ZX7RR Build.

Con-rods have been resized, each available bearing size was purchased and plasti-gauged. We have settled on a size, and ordered bearings for the remaining 3 rods. Unfortunately they don't have stock locally, so they are on their way from Japan. I've updated the photo's FB deleted, and will have some...

Re: ZX7RR Build.

I'll get moving on this lol. They will be words of joy to Jason's ears, but the truth is we are close to engine assembly. I'm still working on the rods, but not far away. Once that job is done, it is just assembly. The delimer regarding the oil pump-alternator drive could not be resolved without the...
