My plans for this winter are, send the rods and crank to Falicon for lightening and knife edging, 1040 kit, find some bigger cams (dont know where, but a local guy says he can weld and regrind my stockers) and maybe some head porting...
I know the whole scared feeling, when I got my 89, all I remembered was my 94 grenading the clutch, but as much as I have pounded this one (did the Factory oil mod trick), I no longer fear it, maybe the 94 was a fluke. I did however find that the rev limiter kicks in around 12,500 (happened to look down while wheelspin set in) even though the tach shows redline at 11000...
