WHO KNEW ???

Post by straygator »

Well cleaned my carbs and the bike runs GREAT, but the next morning, after just a short ride the day before, come to find fuel leak at petcock/selector ... the hoses, joints everywhere and a gooey snot looking reside with the leaking fuel. Got to assume it's the KREEM stuff I applied 3-4 yrs ago. (same color) Has anybody ever used this stuff and had any problems? The carbs were apart for 2 months while I was on the road and the fuel is that old too, any chance something happened to it. Seems I've left it that long before with out incidence.
I going out a ride it dry and buy new fuel and hope it stops, because I know it won't get better in the next 3 weeks when it sits. Too bad I don't trust it to ride up to Daytona, hate to miss that event again. ALL COMMENTS WELCOME and those with rust-in-the-tank BEWARE.

Thanks, Paul

I have Creemed 35 or 40 tanks in my life. No problems that were not prepertion oriented. I WILL say that I personaly prefer POR-15
I have never heard of Gasoline deteriorating Kreem OR POR-15
Your mileage, of course, may vary

Is my tail light still working?

Took off the tank and valve looked inside and everything looks good, the KREEM is still hard and intact. Replaced ALL hoses and clamps and no leaks and no more snot ... must have been in the hoses. Soft drop of the emptied tank off a milk crate and 2 dents in the last orginal undamaged part of my bike. No more reason to stick with the orginal paint colors ... will stick with the red wheels though. And 2 months in the GUNK carb cleaner restored the fuel selector/petcock function ... cancel that part if you read this Chrissy.

Sorry for the premature bad rap on KREEM.
