Getting to know people who're handy.

Post by Yoniboi »

Since I got the Spondon on the road, I've been meeting more and more people who like chopping subframes, changing forks, and generally buggering about with their bikes.
Here in Spain it's completely against the law, they'll pull you over for it, give you fines, you can't get an ITV (vehicle road-worthyness certificate, renewable every two years) etc etc etc but there're still people who go ahead, and most are on a Streetfighter forum located in Barcelona.
Here's one of the guy's bikes, one of the few who has an FZR. (Most go the GSXR1100 route). I haven't met him in person, but I'd like to!!!

Here's his cardboard mock-up:

And the finished article (well, so far):

That is pretty fricken wicked I'll say for sure. While I do have welder in the garage now, I don't have 220V yet and I have 0 experience welding. However, fibreglass matt and resin I know very well and they say Carbon Fibre is very much like glass work,
MMmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
The great thing about Alberta John, is when you go to register your vehicle they ask if you've home built it, not so they can annex you but just soes they can give (Soak) you the proper registration fees and forms.

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070

Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin
