Looks great, 'cept I never did like the solo seat hump, although, must be comfy for the back.

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

Looking forward to seeing it, the tl that Suzuki should have built but didn't. That is, better handling than the tls and lighter than the tlr. Awesome!

K,
I'm kinda liking the red view although it might be a bit big, but what scares me are the hands attached to it, and who those hands might be attached too. The whole girl on girl thing has never really done anything for me really.

Okay, enough of the jokes
One of the difficulties of doing this type of custom job is tying all of the pieces together. The TLR race seat and the TLS tank don't piece together very well, so a custom seat base has been made that hopefully help the individual pieces to come together as a whole. Let me know what you think? I'm going to have a crack at doing the upholstery myself as well.
I have taken pix's of the process of making this seat base, so if there's any interest in how it came together, I can post in the how to make fiberglass stuff section

Could also be the effect of the camera lens - perhaps when the whole fairing is on it will look a bit more balanced. Plus some race number panels with a border might help break up that tailpiece a bit more. We're also used to smaller and smaller tailpieces these days, those dinky vanishing-to-a-point things we see on the latest generation of 600 and 1000 sportsbikes, personally I think sportbike aesthetics peaked around the mid to late 90's and have gone askew since then, with only a few notable exceptions. Me, I do prefer a decent tailsection on a bike, helps to distinguish them more from the hordes of clones. And you can actually get race numbers on it. Remember when the GSXR750 T came out with that big milk boob tailpiece? It's a classic now!!

I just took flipper for a spin... LOUD... LIGHT... No shake when the front came down without damper, (Aprila triples have slightly more offset). My driveway has a large step, going up it at speed can be brutal on some bikes. The ohlins soaked it up! The flat seat section is very comfortable... Even with out foam.
I remembered why I like this bike so much, though it feels far more refined. So I'm happy with where I am right at the moment... Full of adrenaline, and in love with my bike... Even if she has a head like a ripped gumboot
Hmmm, might screw an ice-cream container onto the front fairing stay, and take it to Broadford

Hmmm, there's a thought
here's a pix of flipper resting after his run... Speaking of which, run out of fuel when I put it on the stand
Edit: It's now time to paint the seat and tank... Purple. So flipper is going to take on the appearance of a dolpin with a plastic bag over his head. Yes... It just gets worse Ozzy
Cheers!

Thanks Spook, my comment could have gone either way, humour is the key, "Flipper" that's Gold.
I would love to airbrush a blow-hole and eyes on the side, just to create the illusion fully!!!
Glad it rode well! I have an ice-cream carton if you need a bikini fairing!!!
How did the Vapour gauge work out, readability wise etc????
Regards

Ozzy, no need for thanks, I laughed like hell to tell you the truth. It's good to get others' perspectives and input.
Nothing is going to change regarding the bikes development or direction, that's sort of set by what it was and has been. You'll be happy to know I've drawn in smiling teeth and an eye with a texta
Jason is correct, and he has seen it in the flesh, the front half is as ridiculous as the rear. If you look at the last picture of it parked, you will notice that the front fairing stay looks a little like a demons head. The bike reminds me a bit of myself... The little head certainly is driving the big one
Vapor gauge... Didn't look at it to tell you the truth, I had other things on my mind
Statically it reads very well. The 12v back light is REALLY bright. When looking at it square on (which is how it is set up), it looks like the gauge a page back or so in this thread. The speedo part is large digital, and you can calibrate it to suit circumference of the front wheel.
The thing that attracted me to the Vapor is it is cheap ($150) compact, feature rich, but more so it has a 2 stage programmable shift light/warning light function. I'm planning to tap into that circuit and run out-puts to relay actuated led lamp (stop tail) for shift and warning. So that's the reason I looked at it for this bike... future race bike development.
Downsides are the clip on surround that houses the warning lights is tinny plastic and the led setup is crap. I made my own warning lights to suit. Also the bar tacho only goes to 12k, but the shift lights to 20k, so hence persevering with it. Terminals are individual and as a result bulky and ugly.
However, all in all good value for money imo.
