Re: The History of Yamaha Technology
I don't know where you find this stuff spook, but keep it coming
That's a good history of some of Yamaha's technical triumphs (5 valve head, EXUP valve, monoshock), and some of their epic failures (TX500/750).
Great reading, and it bought back a few memories of the yammies I've had over the years too.

Re: The History of Yamaha Technology
Cheers Spook, that was relatively brief but informative.
Did you notice that one header was "Two storck technology" ?
I know a few blokes with Two storcks, they must have because nobody could get that silly playing with one.

Re: The History of Yamaha Technology
Kiwi wins, sorry Spook, much more bling.
Barry Sheene once said "Kenny Roberts could not develop a cold", that may or may not be true but Kel Carruthers was the Engineer [and a World Champion in his own right].
To describe Roberts as a "self taught Engineer" and ignore Carruthers is American cheuvanism [sic] at it's worst.
Kiwi's clip was obviously produced for Yamaha's largest market but it becomes tiresome when the all good things are American, in North Korea they would dub in the latest Kim as the hero of the piece.
A Moto GP in North Korea would be a hoot, under threat of re-education everyone else would stall on the line and the Glorious Leader would cruise to victory on a highly modified version of a Chinese knockoff of a sidevalve Zundapp flat twin.
I am pissed and gibbering, that happens every Saturday night.

Nah, just moving pictrures, and like the written one that spook put up, I notice they side stepped Yamaha's disasters as well.Kiwi wins, sorry Spook, much more bling.
100% agree on the pro-American stance, but, they've always have been good at cheer leading and you can't really hold that against them.
