EXUP Worldwide was born from the ashes of the original EXUP Brotherhood – the definitive forum for all those who have interest in Yamaha FZ, FZR, and YZF motorcycles.
The bad news is Wiseco has stopped producing its 1029 kits for the 18 mm gudgeon pinned FZR1000 Genesis... The good is that you can still buy over-sized oem pistons from Yamaha... The bad is you probably wont be able to for much longer... The good is that the Wiseco 1040 kits are still available, and second hand ex-up (19 mm rods) are plentiful on the second hand market, and they fit the Genesis motors.
Whatever the case... don't despair there is always a solution??
Is that just the 87 - 88 model you're referring too Ralph and what about the 1070kits?

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin
“I venture not to cross that finish line in a neat, tidy well ordered bundle, but to slide across it sideways in a shower of spark’s, leaking oil, hissing steam shouting ..Geronimo !!!!! “

Nope - The Triumph got written off
I think JE only ever made a 1040 Kit though. Certainly sucks about the 1070's though, that's for sure. I'd bet they still have a few sets around though.

I have'nt looked at this for a while, but from memory R1 rods and +3 JE R1 pistons. Much ligher rods, and pistons are less as well. I emailed JE about using them in the FZR's (valve pockets) and they said "yeah no worries"
