We're used to eathquakes - just not this big!!!!

I'm on holiday in Sydney with my first wife, but have checked up on my family in Christchurch and everyone is ok with minimal or no damage to property.

I've pm'd gtlewis, who lives down there and am waiting for a reply.

And now the news here in Sydney is showing severe flooding down spooks way near Melbourne!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to get back on the track - it's safer than checking the weather outside these days :?
“I venture not to cross that finish line in a neat, tidy well ordered bundle, but to slide across it sideways in a shower of spark’s, leaking oil, hissing steam shouting ..Geronimo !!!!! “

Hope you guys are all right Graham. You can always move to Canada where it's safe and beautiful, only problem is, it gets bloody cold at times.

Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

Well Yeah, Tim,

Usually a good solid month or so, the rest of the Winter is usually kinda just like winter other places, sort of? That one and up to sometimes three maybe months is absolute Hell as Arctic highs will keep us Grid Locked into -30celsius, plus wind chill. COLD, COLD, COLD,

Global warming my arse!!!! I reckon there aren't any tree huggin, birkenstock wearing, hairry armpitted women living in Alberta crying fosil fuel foul on the rest of the world.

Great to hear you and your family are ok, Kiwi.
Looking at the pics on the news, that was a nasty one, good that the authorities
have said no deaths etc.

Thankfully the bad weather has so far mostly missed the city of Melbourne where Spook and I and Jason are, so I'm sure everyone is fine. My relatives in the country are fine too,
I hope Spook's and Jason's are. Not so sure about outlying areas to the north,
might have a bad effect on access to Broadford racetrack
as it is close to some affected towns.

A large branch (a weeks firewood) off a gum tree fell on the sheds roof last night in the high winds... The crash woke me out of a deep sleep... wtf ... heart beating at 130 and then... zzzz... zzzz.... zzzz..... zzzz.... zzzz

Good to hear no serious casualties over home Kiwi :)
