Computer HDD

So, I'm looking for a replacement HDD for my main computer - it's on 24/7/365 and is used mainly for office programmes with the odd movie thrown in and has all of the Windows programmes on it. The current drive is a 10 year old Samsung one.

I've narrowed it down to either the WD Black or WD Gold HDD - thoughts/comments/insights?

I have 2-3 WD Blacks and 4-5 WD Greens. Seem to be fine. They range anywhere from 1-4GB.

Cheers  It's in a normal HDD setup, ie NOT RAID

The WD Gold and WD Black are the same price you see...

Are you talking SSD?

SSD are the only way to go IMO.

Those old high energy spinning things? Why do you prefer?

I moved to SSD a couple of years ago. Blindingly fast, and no failures. No moving parts either, lower power usage etc.

I had a couple of old style drives fail... Not happy!
