Knee Dragging (right way, wrong way)

Post by djalbin »

This guy needs more practice on the proper technique of knee dragging. Looks to me like he's headed for the weeds.

I could almost swear that that pic was taken on Hwy 180 headed E. away from Hwy 129 and towards Hwy 60 and T.W.O. About 1/3 of the way in.

The road from Vogle State Park (Hwy 180) headed East has 75 turns in the first 7 miles.

Contact Patch

Post by djalbin »

Jason,
I think the guy got so caught up in lean angle that he forgot all about the contact patch. Maybe he thought the knee puck could substitute as the bikes' contact patch. You can push off a low-side with your knee puck but you still need ground clearance of your bikes' parts and some contact patch to do it.
If the guy wants to practice extreme lean angles he better work on providing more ground clearance for those exhaust cans. He's got them sticking out like hardcase luggage and hanging halfway down to the ground. Like you said, at least he was dressed for it.
Go for the ride but dress for the crash. Image
