Only good for locations within the U.S.
Test your internet connection speed! By measuring the download and upload rate from the following locations you are able to accurately judge your current line throughput or internet connection speed. To take the speed test, choose the server nearest you. The test will run for download, then upload, and then display the results.

My firewall also provides grapic display of upload and download speed in Kbytes/sec - I can recommend it - I am using the shareware version of SYGATE PERSONAL FIREWALL
I have found it easier to use than ZONE ALARM too.
I am on a 256/64 Kbit plan and on a download average 28Kbyte/sec which works out spot-on.

U must live in a big city to get cable. Only places like melbourne or sydney get cable in australia.
Dial-up here is 56Kbit/sec max which gives 7kByte/sec transfer.
The best that is available residentially here in a regional area is 1500kbit/sec
ADSL and that cost about $100/month
