Ok, I know what is causing it, but it wont go away, I have sanded the pads, cleaned off all the dust, tried everything, but the last few feet of every stop, "squeeeeeeeeeeeeal" it is actually starting to piss me off (the only way not to get it is just stop with the rear brake). And the dust build up on the front rim is horrible, any suggestions?

Have you tried sanding down the rotors? Breaking the glaze on the pads isn't enough.

i second tim's post. gotta hit the rotor surface as well. as for dust build up, maybe try a different material?

I have this exact same problem. But mine only started after I took the front wheel off to do the front wheel bearings. Then when I threw it all back together, I had this squeal. I tore it all apart, cleaned everything, and still had the noise. How come this would start only after I put it all back together?

Yep, thats when the problem occured, after I had removed the front wheel to strip and paint the rims, then it started, doesnt make any sence really...

Just a note Tim, your claimed top speed is pretty low for a SuperSport bike, only 149.72mph (sorry, had to pull ur chain about it)
(Mach is 760mph X 0.197 = 149.72mph)

That is only as fast as I've ever taken her up to. I wondered if anyone would ever do the math on that.

Only 0.026 Mach to go, but I'm not silly enough to do it. (and I wear my gear)

maybe bearings aren't set properly?

I had brake squeal once...couldnt figure it ou why since the pads had plenty of life remaining

after closer inspection I noticed a small pebble had wedged itself between the rotor and caliper/pads

enough to make a strange brake squeal like noise

Brakes squeal because of the gooves worn into the rotors and pads cause a vibration that becomes resonant. Turn the rotor, replace the pads. Change the elements in the mechanical system involved in the vibration. The pads can be damped somewhat by using the disk pad grease behind the pad...causes the system to become resonant at a different frequency.

many, many years ago....
ie, brake pads, copperslip, no squeal.
When you had the front end apart you probably cleaned the
back and ends of the pads, that's the source of the noise.
yours Slip.

chamfering the leading edge of the pad also helps prevent squeel
