New (non bike) toy

Post by RiceRocket1 »

Picked up an 06 Supercharged Chevy Cobalt SS last Friday.

So far very impressed with it.

Just about done with the "break in", consisting of not taching over 5K, no lugging at any one speed for too long (don't use the cruise control), no down shifting to slow the car.

Some of the goodies.....

SS Supercharged 2SS Features are

Audio system: Pioneer premium amplified, includes tweeters and rear subwoofer speaker, XM Satellite Radio
Engine: 2.0L Supercharged DOHC ECOTEC four-cylinder with 205 hp
Gauges: titanium-faced sport, include speedometer, fuel gauge, tachometer and boost
Spoiler: high-mounted, body-color
Suspension Package: Performance Handling Wheels: 18-inch, painted, cast-aluminum
Sunroof, power, tilt-sliding, includes mirror map lights
Transmission, 5-speed manual, includes 4.05 axle ratio and short throw shifter

GM already has a "stage 2" kit for it which cosists of injectors and a chip, bumps it up to 241 hp.Image

Nice looking car bro, good to see some high performance fwd cars that arent riced to the max (fart can muffler, huge rear wing that serves no purpose and a lowering kit that makes driveway approaches impossible)...

We have a local guy here with a 2004 Pontiac GTO that is bad to the bone, it will run with alot of crotch rockets and still gets good mileage (seen him run 10.5 in the 1/4)...

The other sleeper of the area is a Ford Murarder (sp?). It looks stock from the side, but you look at it from behind and u see the tub job (they widened the stock rims to a 10" negative offset & 21.5" Mickey Thompson tires), it will run 11.0 all day and still is runable on the interstate...

I bought the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (supercharged FWD)

Here's some pictures of a car similar to mine. One of these days I'll take some digitals of mine. Is that a Hybrid I see disappearing in the distance of my rear view mirror?

Ricerocket,
So how do you like the black finish on your car so far? I really like the mirror black look but it does have a down side ...
1. Every fingerprint and smudge shows up
2. Dust shows up extremely well (the car is a dust magnet)
3. Swirls are very visible in the light

Get one of the California Car Dusters. It will save you countless hours keeping the car clean from dust. To avoid swirls, only use the mircofiber or soft cloths to wipe the car. For the smudges and fingerprints ... don't let anyone touch your car. But if they do, it will be very easy to match their fingerprint :D
