Even faster. Well, at least for the first 60 - 100 feet or so. It takes the Y2K awhile to get up to speed compared to our piston driven bikes. With the low-end and mid-range power curve of our bikes we can beat him off the line. After that ... well the Y2K is going to say good-bye as we disappear in it's rear view mirrors.

'Bout the only way I could beat one is on initial startup.

Challenge him to a 100 mile race. :P Y2K's get maybe 50miles to an 5-8gal tank (which ever one they have).

but the y2k would get to the 50mile lot quiker, and fill up with fuel, remember it uses anything combustible so he could stop at a bar :banana and then hes off again :poke

Actually its run on diesel/kerosene. :P Not sure if biodiesel will work with the jet unit. His first issue though woul dbe to find a petrol station that sells either one. Some areas in the US its hard to find diesel. That and that thing turns like a semi.

BTW didnt you used to live in Adelaide?

In the vid I thought it said that it'll run on Gas, AP, Diesel, Kero, and Ethanol.

I heard the biggest thing is throttle lag both on and off. Off would concern me more than on.

yeah, that's what I mean... you roll off the throttle, and the bike still accelerates for a half second or so before spooling down...

Also doesnt have any form of engine braking to begin with (from the special on it a few years ago). One thing that came to my head instantly. What about emergency manuovers? Also I think that you have to push a button to get it in neutral before you can brake (again from the special).

As for the gas and ethanol, neither was listed in the brochure from MTT (Marine Turbo Technology) who builds the bike, just Jet-A, Diesel and kero.
