floating engine mount bolts?

Post by Agabinet »

I've read that you have to be careful which side engine mount bolts you put in first in an exup (mine's a 750); one side are floating, the other not, so you have to put the left ones in first and tighten, then the right, or the chain won't align. Is this correct?

Ari

Ari
I've never heard that and there is nothing to that affect in the factory service amnual that I have ever seen.
The little bit of side to side movement of the frame would, I would think be negligable in relation to the chain lining up
But .....
That's just what "I" think!
<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... there is a nice article on how to line perfect the engine with the sprocket rear, basically you must loose the bolt, start the engine and let the trans rev a bit to have find the less friction point (both sprocket perfect lined), and then tight the bolt, this add lot of freeness to the final trans.........but I dont know if worth the job or not......other good info on that article about washing and maintence for not having bolt corrosion

<a href="http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/reto ...

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p072.ezboard.com/bexupbrotherhoo ... canappa at: 2/16/05 12:06 pm
