EXUP cables interchangable?

Post by Stewyzf750 »

Does anyone know the length of the EXUP cables on a 1994 YZF750R, or can anyone tell me if the cables are the same as any other bike (EXUP RU?). My cables have frayed and are knackered but the local parts place doesn't have any YZF750 exup parts in stock. (I have already ordered a new cable bracket and pulley).

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well, found out that at least one of the cables from the thunderace seems to fit on a YZF750 without any trouble. I took my old cable to the breakers yard and he matched one up to one from a thunderace. Only visible difference was that the YZF cable had FM-1 on it and the thunderace had FM-2 on it. Both cables measured around 615mm.
Also managed to get the massive crack in the exhaust fixed, thanks to my mate Nige who chopped off the crap bit and welded on a new section.

And polished it up a bit.

All the exup components were in a sorry state so most were replaced.

<img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/S ... The two prong things are for setting the position of the exup valve relative to the bolt hole between them.
