Probably this questions is asked many times before however can not find the correct answers;
I have purchased a 87 FZR1000 nice cilinder/piston set and want this build on my 87 FZ750 Genesis racer. Visually it seems a 1 on 1 mount however I want to be sure...
Can I use the standard FZR pistons and the FZ750 piston rods?
Any unexpected surprizes?
Thanks for info!!

Re: Pre-exup cilinders on 87 FZ750 Genesis
What year fz750? The gold case engines rods (I think) are shorter than the silver cased motors (probably .5 mm). Both engines have 18mm little rod ends.
I think fitting one to the other without checking things such as squish and piston to valve clearance would be fraught.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply. I am using a 87 Genesis engine with the silver covers. I will check the sizes for sure but am curious if anyone did the job before.
Grtz
