I'd hate to walk into the shop and see me engine like that. Hope you get it sorted out soon.
Tim
<img src="http://img69.photobucket.com/albums/v20 ...
Has anyone seen my keys?
Dir. of Entertainment Eddie & the Cruisers
'94 FZR 1000
Here, "LIVE!!!!" for your entertainment.

I wouldn't be stessin too much Hiras. Provided its in the care of a reputable shop you should be right. I sent my FZR1000 engine to a renowned tuner/engineer by referral from a friend of mine, and he has been nothin short of awesome. I gave him the engine already dissasembled in 5 boxes and four days later I had a complete engine, cleaned carbs, and a banded clutch basket for $450AUD.

He now gets all my work, and looks after me really well

Hi, my names Tim and I'm a postaholic.

*clapping*

Welcome Tim.

Sometimes the powers that be have their own "mysterious" schedule. Who are we to actually think that they will come through in a timely manner.
I dropped my '90 1000 off @ a "new" shop to have the carbs synced....Thursday will be 4 weeks. The job has somehow evolved into other areas that I believed were just fine?!!
Steering bearing, back break pads, new tires....
you know how it goes. So be patient...I'm also losing my mind!!!

That sh1ts me when shops do that fzheaven, I wish they'd just do what you asked of them. You know, I wonder sometimes if they think that if they do what you ask, correctly, the first time, you'd be a happy customer and come back to get all the other stuff done? Instead it just seems that they want to try and jam you for as much as they can now in case you don't come back - not what I'd call a customer focused business plan......

Hi, my names Tim and I'm a postaholic.

*clapping*

Welcome Tim.

That's £450 all in if I am lucky.
Can this be right? Chuck? Does it take a proffesional16hrs to do a top end rebuild?

FOr all the @#%$ trouble I am gonna be in with my bank I might as well have gone berserk and bought a 1040 big bore kit. hiras check back in some of the posts...chuckd quoted some guesstimates on how long a top end rebuild would cost and how much for each valve etc - try and search...I gotta hit the bed for work tonight - maybe someone can search - I know its here somewhere

16 hours sounds like alot but then again we have 5 valves per cylinder - wouldnt hurt to get a quote from another shop
-John
