HI
Ive a 90 exup and considering buying a aftermarket end can,
the SCORPION can with removable baffle looks nice, has anyone used one before? im thinking of running it with the road legal baffle removed, im not planning on a re-jet.
How will it run with baffles in and baffles out, compared to the standard can, will there be big flat spots and starting problems if i dont rejet. Is there is a better choice of can for me with the above requirements, i dont want to have to cut me downpipes about. I do like the standard can but im after a bit more noise.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p072.ezboard.com/bexupbrotherhoo ... pchop>chip chap chop at: 7/29/04 6:57 am

I have a D&D on my '90, and I love it. It didn't need rejetting. It sounds rich and throaty and is loud enough to let other motorists around you that you a there.

I'm sure that John will also be providing you some info.

My exup came with an ART race can, but it is also been fitted with a Dyno jet kit and K&N filter. No real flat spots except in really hot weather when I am having to follow slow traffic, and it does not like a big handful of throttle unless in a really low gear. Otherwise goes fast enough to scare your granny, petrol consumption's not too bad and at low speeds the Exup valve cuts out most of the noise. Wife reckons it sounds sexy and that's enough for me.
Chris.

I'm no expert but i'm running a scorpion race can, a K&N filter, and no other mods except a one tooth smaller front sprocket and I've had no problems whatsoever. I'm running a 90 EXUP in middle England (not high and hot) I've never had trouble with this 3000 rpm problem I've read so much about on the forum, perhaps I've just been lucky. She's the oldest bike I've ever owned and the best bike I've ever owned, she's like an expensive whore, she let's me f**k about like a twat, yet still flatters me. I've had alot of whisky but I hope the first bit helped.
All the Tony

Cheers for the info chaps ive now done 1000 miles with me scorpion race can (with e marked decibel plug removed) it sounds deep but not too loud, seems to run ok with standard jetting, no flat spots, i may try a k&n filter at next service, i seem to rev the bike a lot more now through the gears now (brings the hooligan out in you) standard pipe was a tad difficult to remove the old flanges fell off even after heat and wd40.

cheers chaps
