Swingarm Play

I've got about an 1/8 inch of free play at the end of my swing-arm on my "YZF750" track bike. Not good.

My first inclination is to pull it apart and check the shaft and bearings and if all is good, repack, reassemble and torque. But the manual is telling me if I remove the bearings then I'll need to replace them. (Drifting them out will damage them).

So before I do that, any insights on where the play may be coming from? Should I go ahead and bite the bullet and buy new bearings? Shaft? (If I can source them).

Thanks

Kontoboy

Thanks Jim. I added it up and it looks to be about $120 in parts (plus shipping) for all new bearings, bushings and seals.

Not as bad as I thought but still about the cost of a track day!

Kontoboy
