Read a bunch of posts, but nobody repairs their alternators. Stator coil resistance is 3-4 ohms instead of the 0.16-0.18 ohms the book specs. My ohm meter is 25 yrs old so I gotta double check. The brush lenth is 10mm, 6 above the min spec of 4mm. Book says to check field coil resistance, but does not say where you measure. I like to replace things like this with NEW parts, but BikeBandit list it as 625 bucks ... so I prefer to replace only what is necessary with new parts and would like some feedback from anyone who has already done the same thing.
Thanks,
Paul
