Rattle can black, accented with highlights of angle grinder, hammer, and screwdriver...

The police did a fantastic job of catching them, 4 days after I reported it stolen, I get this phone call from Police Comms around 10pm:

Comms - "Is your bike still stolen?"
Me - "Yup"
Comms - "Well, we appear to have caught them then, can I get the officer to call you?"
Me - "Yup"

A short while later I'm on the scene where they caught the guy.

Talking to the Officer, they managed to catch him when he went blasting past a car at YZF-esque speeds, which the driver promptly called the cops who ran the plate and found it listed as stolen. they asked the driver to follow the bike, who had stopped a few k's down the road at a local dairy, where he was going to buy a pack of smokes.

The police, having had a speeding matt black bike, with no lights on(got damaged when they rooted the igniton) pull up at a dairy, figure it was about to be robbed, so they deployed seven cars and two patrol bikes to the scene - in time for the guy to walk out of the dairy and be met by a scene like you'd see in the movies

On the down side, apart from everything that he rooted, the judge found him guilty, but having no income, didn't order any reparations, and gave him 200 hours of community service.

My yzf only had third party cover at the time, which is almost a good thing, because the insurance company probably would have written it off - which I could never do, I love my bike :-)

That sucks man,

LOVE that fact that they caught him,

Can't stand what they did to punish his ass though :super-mad 200 hours of what! mowin' Alice's lawn for her? They should've given him to you as your own personal slave for the next two years, that is, if you could've forgiven him & keep yourself from pummeling him dialy.

Call it risk management, I didn't want to complicate his first ride with the chance that gloves would reduce the amount of grip he had - now that I know he's not what I'd label a pillion-tard it'll be gloves on from now on 8-)

And a helmet of his own too - The pink flower in the front of his Mum's helmet didn't exactly scream out 'cool' :lolno:

This summer my little guy will be starting on the back, he's already used to the Buddy Belt (harness) a bit and can finally reach the pegs, now for some proper gear. Gloves included.
